Tihar (तिहार) is the festival of lights in Nepal, also called Deepawali or Yamapanchak. It comes right after Dashain and lasts for five days. Day 1-worshipping crow begins the festival. Day 2- worshipping Dog. Day 3- worshiping Goddess laxmi and holy cow, in newari culture day4- as Gobhardhan pooja worship themselves known as Mha pooja and last day marks as sisters worship their brother asking to long their life.

TIHAR requires tika ingredients (red vermilion, rice, yogurt, seeds), a Kalasha (holy pot),

Statue of Ganesh and Laxmi , buys pots and pans and silver coins, shreeyantra, laxmi paila , decorate their house with flowers , garland , rangoli, colours,lights.
cook amazing food like selroti and other sweets.

Essential items also include new clothes, food for feasts, gifts for elders and kids  and items for activities.
